This webinar explained the basics of using the SkinDose module within Varskin+; the video can be found at the bottom of this page. It:
- explained where to get the Varskin+ software and what the SkinDose module does
- described the SkinDose user interface and its input parameters, including some of the areas to watch out for
- demonstrated several worked examples typical of work in the education sector
- provides additional sources of help to get you started with using Varskin+
This was an introductory session and didn't require prior knowledge of the software and is even for those that have used SkinDose in Varskin+ before, who may still learn a few things.

Gwen Mott, University College London
Originally a geologist, Gwen's radiation career started as a Radioactive Substances Regulator at the Environment Agency. Subsequently she became a Radiation Protection Officer in the higher education sector. She has over 10 years experience in universities and recently re-certified as RWA.
In 2015 Gwen joined her first SRP committee, and is currently chairing the Research and Teaching Committee. She organises the regional AURPO London and SouthEast meeting.
Before entering into the world of radiation, she had a varied career including: Contaminated Land Officer, Translator of Film Scripts, Publishing Assistant, Site Geologist and Landscape Gardener.
Ralph Whitcher, CLEAPSS
Ralph is a science adviser and RPA for CLEAPSS, the school science service, and the lead RPA for CLEAPSS as an RPA Body.
As an AURPO member, Ralph is a member of the Executive Council and is currently acting Chair of AURPO’s Higher Education Research and Teaching group.
Ralph is a member of SRP's Research and Teaching Group, Chairing it from 2009 - 2016. He is also Chair of the Association for Science Education's Health and Safety Group; a Technical Committee that supports safe and exciting practical science by advising on how to do practical work safely.
